Job Description

Locate Technician Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locate Technician to join our team in Dillon, CO. The Locate Technician will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utilities to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment. Interpret maps, blueprints, and utility drawings to accurately identify utility locations. Communicate with contractors, utility companies, and clients to coordinate locating activities. Document and report findings clearly and accurately. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all locating activities. Maintain and calibrate locating equipment to ensure accuracy. Respond promptly to locate requests and complete assignments within designated timeframes. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in utility locating or a related field preferred. Familiarity with underground utility systems and construction processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maps. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Work Environment This position involves outdoor work in the Dillon, CO. area, often in varying weather conditions and terrain. The Locate Technician will be required to travel to different job sites and work independently or as part of a team.
