Job Description
at State of Delaware in Dover, Delaware, United States Job Description The position involves coordination of utility work and relocations in conjunction with capital projects. Responsibilities include coordinating and meeting with utility companies, designers, contractors, etc. to determine the location of existing utilities, if there is conflict and how to best avoid or resolve utility conflicts. The primary responsibility is to coordinate proposed capital work with utility companies to minimize construction impacts, prepare utility statements, review utility submissions, track project submissions and utility related issues that may arise during construction. This position is considered Report When Contacted (RWC) and may have to report during emergency situations and severe weather events. Must maintain a valid driver's license. JOB REQUIREMENTS
for Engineering/Planning/Surveying Technician III Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Public Utility Coordination Six months experience in reviewing construction plans and details, project plans, specifications, schematics or technical drawings to determine compliance. Six months experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Six months experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data. Knowledge of coordinating public utility relocations in roadway or bridge construction contracts. Knowledge of interpreting laws, rules and regulations pertaining to public utility relocation and installation in public right-of-way. Knowledge of project management which includes planning, developing, implementing, managing and evaluating projects to ensure objectives are met. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
