Job Description:

We are hiring for a Field Survey Technician to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Milton, DE . This person will work on a variety of projects with an emphasis on Land Development.

Primary Responsibilities:

Adjust & operate surveying instruments (e.g.: prisms, total stations, GPS/electronic distance-measuring equipment, auto-levels, etc.). Record survey measurements & descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and data collection files. Use rods for bench loops and cross-section elevations. Position targets that Operators use for sighting in order to measure angles, distances, and elevations. Search, stake, and recover sectional & property corners together with other survey monumentation. Perform manual labor, such as cutting brush to clear lines, carrying materials (i.e.: stakes, rebar, and other items), and staking survey monumentation. Perform construction staking activities. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed. If you can adapt well to new situations, are a team player and a problem solver that can work with a high level of accuracy we urge you to apply!

Basic Requirements:

High School Diploma (or equivalent). This person will be expected to work regularly in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License as well as a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal training in Land Surveying or a related field of study (especially Civil Engineering). Experience working in field-based roles with physically-demanding tasks; this is a physically-demanding position, as this person will be expected to perform manual labor. Experience with Land Surveying that provided exposure to modern survey methods, best practices, and technologies. Exposure to relevant technologies / tools (e.g.: Total Stations, HDLS, GIS, etc.); experience with RTS (Robotic Total Stations), GPS, Leica Geosystems HW & SW, and/or Faro High-Definition Laser Scanning equipment is a plus!. Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications, especially with MS-Excel. Proven ability to adapt to new situations; this person will be expected to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments. Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.
