What we are looking for… At eda we are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Survey Field Technician who can confidently perform field work for boundary, topographic, tree, and construction stakeout surveys. Typical Projects Private, commercial and retail development sites Future residential subdivisions Local, state, and federal government facilities Public K-12 schools and education campuses Position Summary The ideal candidate is proficient and productive with modern surveying instruments, takes complete and legible field notes, and demonstrates pride in their work through careful handling of equipment. This role also requires responsibility for the cleaning and basic maintenance of survey vehicles and instruments, along with promptly reporting any maintenance needs beyond routine care to the Director of Surveying. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and safety are essential for success in this position. Requirements Demonstrate proficiency in the use of survey equipment, including total stations and data collectors Exhibit the ability to read, interpret, and apply survey documents and construction drawings Possess the capability to perform calculations necessary for accurate surveying work Be capable of meeting the physical demands associated with daily field operations Maintain the physical ability to traverse extended distances and safely handle heavy objects, including manhole lids Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Maintain a valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record. The employee must have a valid driver's license to drive their vehicle or a company vehicle to various worksite locations as required by the employer. eda is a drug free workplace. Employees must be able to pass an initial and periodic drug screening test
Desired Supplementary Abilities:
Ability to properly identify trees in North Central Florida Experience with Leica Total Stations (traditional & robotic) and Leica GPS Work Schedule Typical working hours for this position are 6:15am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute to 1 hour lunch break. Flexibility is required for end of day working time to allow for a productive stopping point and to accommodate varying work priorities. Overtime hours may be available. eda cannot make any guarantees regarding standard or overtime hours. Out-of-town work is infrequent but is possible with this position.
