Job Description

RIGHT-OF-WAY MAPPER/SURVEY TECHNICIAN
This opportunity is with an established, employee-owned surveying and mapping firm with a long track record supporting transportation and infrastructure projects across the Southeast. The position works closely with project teams to assist with field-to-finish workflows, boundary research, and preparation of mapping products. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in survey or mapping production and is comfortable working with data, plans, and technical deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of right-of-way maps, exhibits, and supporting documentation Process field data and perform basic survey calculations to support mapping deliverables Support the development of survey plats and mapping products for transportation projects Review work for completeness and accuracy before submission Coordinate with survey crews and project team members to maintain project schedules Provide drafting support using mapping software as needed Assist with compiling reports and project documentation Support quality control efforts on survey and mapping deliverables Work collaboratively with engineers and project staff to align survey data with project needs Participate in field work on an as-needed basis Assist with training and supporting junior team members Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders when needed Help track project progress and support overall team delivery Perform general office-related tasks as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience 3-8+ years of experience in survey, right-of-way mapping, or survey data processing Experience supporting transportation or infrastructure-related projects preferred Proficiency with MicroStation or similar drafting/mapping software SKILLS Strong attention to detail and accuracy in mapping and data processing Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with project teams Familiarity with mapping standards and transportation-related deliverables Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Willingness to learn and grow within the surveying and mapping field
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally if needed Ability to sit for extended periods and perform standard office tasks Occasional light lifting may be required
