Drafting Full Job Description Job Title:
Home Building Survey Technician GeoPoint is a land surveying company with multiple locations, specializing in land development, geomatics, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and subsurface utility engineering.
Summary/Objective:
The Home Building Survey Technician will be responsible for efficiently planning and preparing CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The role involves maintaining and organizing survey records, interacting with field crews and project managers, performing research, and producing high-quality lot survey packages.
Essential Job Functions:
Efficiently plan and prepare CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Maintain and organize both digital and paper survey records for easy retrieval and reference. Communicate and collaborate daily with field crews, project managers, and co-workers to ensure smooth workflow and project coordination. Perform research and gather data through the GeoPoint database and county websites to support surveying and mapping activities. Ensure that daily and weekly schedules and productivity objectives set by the supervisor for surveys and drawings are achieved. Produce quality lot survey packages that meet or exceed industry standards.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CAD technician role, preferably in the surveying or construction industry. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical drawings. Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed records. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform research and gather data effectively. Familiarity with GeoPoint database and county websites is a plus. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Regularly engage in sitting, standing, or walking activities. Occasionally handle lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items of varying weights. Perform reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting motions as needed. Other physical requirements may arise depending on job tasks. Work may be conducted at a desk or workstation situated in confined areas. Experience moderate levels of noise indoors and outdoors. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required. Ability to thrive in both team-oriented settings and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
Safety Responsibility:
Adhere to all company and regulatory safety standards and procedures. Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate corrective actions. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner. Participate in safety training and promote a culture of workplace safety.

$18.00 - $26.00 per hour
