TRT050 Transportation Tech 1 - Survey Technician 1 Pay Grade G $37,440.00

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, provides entry level technical support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES

: Under general supervision learns to assist in a variety of transportation engineering services. Trains to specialize in a particular area of emphasis within the area of assignment which may include working in both indoor and/or field setting. This is the entry/training level of the Engineering/Technology job series. Incumbents at this level may require additional training or experience to gain full proficiency in some or all of the job responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Minimum Qualifications.

STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

GED AGENCY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to learn to perform routine engineering support duties for assigned program area (i.e. construction, surveying, traffic operations, lab testing or data collection) Ability to interpret manuals and instructions. Ability to learn to operate equipment and/or instruments as required Ability to assist in data gathering or collect data as requested Ability to lift 50lbs. Ability to walk 5 or more miles on uneven terrain. Demonstrates basic math skills (percentages, area of a triangle, trapezoid or circle, volume of a cylinder, rectangular prism, and unit conversions). Commitment to providing quality customer service

In addition, an employee must have an overall ePerformance rating score of three (3) or higher on their most current evaluation. Human Resources may remove any employee from consideration for selection who is pending a disciplinary action; however, if the action is resolved in the employee's favor, he or she will be allowed to compete.
