Job Description

Wallace Montgomery is searching for a Survey Technician to join our Surveys and Mapping department in our Hunt Valley, MD office. Survey technicians must have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of land surveying. The ability to see objects and estimate sizes, distances and abstract shapes is a necessary characteristic. Surveying technicians must be detail oriented and able to complete tasks accurately and precisely. Survey Technicians work will include data collection processing, deed research and mosaic preparation, plat drafting, LiDAR registration and extractions, boundary analysis along with other surveying aspects.
Primary Functions:
Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards — Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Performs data entry for project analysis. Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment — Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used. Estimating the Quantifiable Characteristics of Products, Events, or Information — Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity. Operate field equipment. Performing Administrative Activities — Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. maintain records, reports, or files prepare safety reports
Qualifications:
2 to 4 years' office experience in the Land Surveying industry. High school diploma or GED required. Experience with SHA and public sectors is preferred Experience using MicroStation, V8i SS10 and/or Open Roads Designer is a plus.
