Job Description

Energy Land & Infrastructure (ELI) continues to grow and is currently seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our growing surveying team working around the Raleigh, NC and Charlotte, NC areas. The position has opportunity for advancement for motivated individuals willing to learn the skills and technology required. The Survey Field Technician supports the Crew Chief and Survey Manager in ensuring field surveys are completed to the standards of practice for land surveying, and within budgetary and time constraints. Work will include all aspects of land surveying including boundary surveys, route surveys, pipeline surveys, topographic surveys, construction layout, as-built surveys, and aerial (UAS/drone) surveying. The Survey Field Technician is an integral part of the survey team and will work in conjunction with the Crew Chief to provide efficient workflows. Essential tasks with this position include the following: Survey data collection using GNSS, robotic, or conventional methods in accordance with corporate and/or client standards Assists in the daily field operations of a one-, two- or three-man survey crew Assists in determining the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for a variety field surveys Assists with documentation of work performed and sketches With assistance from the Crew Chief, read and interpret engineering plans and construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the project specifications and tolerances Assists in the preparation of daily reports, and other required paperwork Maintain vehicle and field equipment Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Out-of-town work
Education/Experience Qualifications:
High School Diploma or its equivalent required The ideal candidate will possess a 2-year degree in surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field (Preferred but not required) 2+ years of experience as part of a survey crew Certified Survey Technician I / II (CST I/II) (Preferred but not required) FAA Part 107 sUAS Remote Pilot Certification (Preferred but not required) Experience using Trimble and Topcon equipment (Preferred but not required) Proficient with business software: Outlook, Excel, and Word Knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and field procedures Understand/follow directions and a willingness to learn Strong communication skills
Other Details:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., walk for extended periods of time in all types of terrain Must be able work in all types of weather Must be physically able to perform the work outside Must be willing to travel on occasion

Schedule:
Full time Monday to Friday (possible weekends) Overtime available ELI places a high priority on the growth of the Company with emphasis on Civil Infrastructure in Municipal, Transportation, Natural Gas, Energy, and Private Sector Markets. The position has an opportunity for advancement for aspiring individuals willing to learn the skills and technology required.
