In this dynamic role, you will support land surveying teams by assisting with data collection, measurements, and mapping activities. Your energetic approach and keen eye for detail will contribute to accurate land assessments, utility locating, and construction planning. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills while working outdoors and in collaborative environments. Assist surveyors with field data collection using GPS devices, 3D scanners, and hand tools to ensure precise measurements. Support utility locating efforts by identifying underground services to prevent project delays or hazards. Operate drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Carlson to prepare schematics and maps. Use GIS tools like ArcGIS for spatial data analysis and land surveying documentation. Conduct land surveys by measuring angles, distances, and elevations utilizing trigonometry, geometry, and algebra principles. Maintain accurate records of field measurements, sketches, and survey data for project reports. Assist with heavy lifting and physical tasks required during site visits or equipment setup to ensure safety and efficiency. Basic understanding of land surveying concepts including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and data collection techniques. Familiarity with surveying equipment such as GPS units, 3D scanners, hand tools, and schematics reading. Experience or knowledge of CAD software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, or Carlson is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail with excellent math skills for accurate measurements and data analysis. Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting survey findings effectively. Prior experience in utility locating or construction environments is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
