Job Description

About us Cyvl is a Boston-based tech startup revolutionizing the way civil engineering firms and governments map and manage transportation infrastructure. Our enterprise-grade hardware and software solutions leverage 3D mapping sensors to capture LiDAR, imagery, and GPS data, retrofitted to our customers' vehicles. This data is processed through our AI-powered cloud pipelines to generate actionable condition and geospatial reports, saving our customers time, money, and resources. We are in a phase of rapid growth, disrupting a massive and outdated market with our innovative solutions. About the role This is a short-term summer contract cycling position where you'll spend your days independently covering assigned sidewalks across Buffalo with our data collection sensor mounted in a cart you pull behind a Cyvl-provided bike. It's solo work, self-directed, outdoors, and well-paid. If you enjoy being on a bike, working independently, and getting paid to ride, this is for you. What you'll do Bike assigned sidewalk networks across Buffalo, towing a cart that houses our data collection sensor Set up and operate the bike, cart, and sensor each day. We'll train you fully before you start Log your progress and flag any issues as they come up Work independently. No micromanagement, just you, the bike, and the sidewalk This role is a great fit if you: Have a background or interest in GIS, mapping, surveying, data, or geospatial technology Are a recent graduate looking for paid hands-on field experience Are between roles and want a well-paid, purposeful short-term contract Are comfortable with technology and pick up new tools quickly Are a comfortable cyclist able to spend several hours a day on the bike Know Buffalo's neighborhoods well, or are eager to learn them Are available through the summer months Qualifications Ability to bike for extended periods (4-6 hours per day) in typical summer weather Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (sensor and cart setup, occasional cart loading/unloading) Basic comfort with technology. We'll train you on everything else Valid government-issued ID Bike, cart, sensor, and all related equipment will be provided by Cyvl. What we offer Competitive hourly pay All equipment provided: bike, cart, sensor, mounting hardware, and full training Contract length: typically 2-3 months depending on the project scope, scheduled across the summer Pre-Employment Requirements This position requires a background check prior to starting.
