Company Description Marris Land Surveying provides professional land surveying services for residential, commercial, and construction projects. Specializing in boundary surveys, property mapping, and site layout solutions, the company utilizes modern GPS and surveying technology to deliver precise and reliable results. Committed to accuracy and attention to detail, Marris Land Surveying supports property owners, developers, and contractors in advancing their projects with confidence. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site or hybrid role located in the Nashville Metropolitan Area for a Survey CAD Technician. The Survey CAD Technician will be responsible for processing field data, preparing detailed survey drawings such as boundary surveys and construction layouts, and ensuring accuracy in all designs. Additional responsibilities include utilizing CAD software, maintaining clear documentation, collaborating with surveyors and project managers, and providing technical support for mapping and layout tasks. Responsibilities Prepare detailed CAD drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and Carlson software to represent survey data accurately. Collect field data through GPS, 3D scanners, hand tools, and other surveying equipment for use in drafting and modeling. Perform utility locating tasks to identify underground utilities and incorporate this information into project schematics. Conduct land surveying activities including boundary determination, topographic mapping, and data analysis to support project planning. Utilize GIS platforms such as ArcGIS to analyze spatial data and create comprehensive maps for project documentation. Assist in the operation of 3D scanners and other advanced data collection tools to capture precise site measurements. Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to develop accurate schematics, site plans, and construction layouts while adhering to safety standards. Maintain meticulous records of field surveys, data collection efforts, and CAD files for project continuity and quality assurance. Qualifications Experience in Technical Support, Troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to CAD and survey equipment Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar CAD software Experience with Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access and Trimble Siteworks is a plus Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Prior experience in land surveying or construction-related projects is preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, CAD, Geomatics, or related field is a plus Benefits Flexible schedule In-office or Hybrid Position Pay based on experience Yearly Bonus Structure Retirement Plan PTO based on hours worked and years of service
