Job Title:
Survey CAD Technician Job Description The CAD Technician is responsible for using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to provide support to engineers and surveyors by performing a variety of design and drafting activities. These activities include creating routine layouts, detail drawings, sketches, and diagrams. Responsibilities Produce drawings using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software, mainly Civil 3D and AutoCAD 2D. Analyze sketches, drawings, notes, and verbal information supplied by engineers, surveyors, technicians, or designers to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments. Work closely with engineers, surveyors, technicians, project coordinators, project managers, and support staff to produce drawings and layout data. Revise and modify drawings as necessary. Plot, organize, and assemble project-related documents. Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematical formulas, and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Adhere to company standards and methodologies. Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations. Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics. Support the 1 million dollar survey project initially, then work on various projects including survey, municipal, and land development projects. All other duties as assigned. Essential Skills 3 plus years of Civil 3D CAD skills. 5 plus years working on Survey projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Additional Skills & Qualifications 10 plus years of experience is a bonus. Experience working on Land Development and/or Municipal projects. Experience with MicroStation ORD (Open Roads) is advantageous. Work Environment The position primarily involves office work. Initially, during the first 90 days, the role requires in-office presence 5 days a week for training. After this period, the work schedule becomes more flexible, allowing 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. The workweek is typically 40-50 hours with flexible hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
