Survey Technician

We are seeking a Survey Technician to join a highly respected and growing survey group supporting large‑scale infrastructure and construction projects throughout New York City. Key Responsibilities Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot survey instrumentation near active construction sites Set up and manage Automated Total Stations in urban environments, including near buildings, roadways, and bridges Perform periodic field visits to ensure data accuracy and equipment performance Collect, process, and analyze survey and monitoring data Collaborate closely with surveyors, engineers, and project teams to ensure accurate reporting and successful project execution What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience working with survey instrumentation and data collection Hands‑on experience with Automated Total Stations Proficiency with GeoMos software High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying, or a related field preferred Work Environment & Growth Join a 30+ person survey team supporting major NYC infrastructure projects Projects include work for public agencies such as DDC, SCA, Port Authority, Bridges, and major roadway programs Typical schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Initial onboarding and training provided in‑office, with the potential for a hybrid arrangement over time Clear opportunities for advancement, skill development, and long‑term career growth Why This Role Is Different Work on long‑term, stable infrastructure programs, not short‑term gigs Be part of a firm that invests in training, mentorship, and internal promotions Gain exposure to complex, urban surveying challenges that build valuable expertise Join a collaborative environment where people stay, grow, and advance Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Albany, NY.
