Job Description
Job Summary The Survey Technician supports the land surveying team by processing and analyzing survey data, preparing survey reports, and assisting with project coordination. They work in an office environment and collaborate closely with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to ensure the accuracy and reliability of surveying projects. The duties of a Survey Technician include:
- Creating detailed technical drawings based on survey data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards/specifications.
- Process and analyze survey data using surveying software and tools.
- Collaborating with surveyors and engineers to verify data and ensure precision in documents representing land topography and property boundaries.
- Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Assist in project coordination, including organizing and maintaining survey records, project files, and documentation.
- Assist with drafting and preparing survey plans and documents.
- Using CAD software to produce high-quality drawings, including topographic maps, boundary surveys, and construction plans.
- Conduct research on property records, legal descriptions, and historical survey data.
- Research and examine public records such as deeds, mortgages, liens, easements, and probate records to trace the history of ownership and legal interests associated with a property.
- Compile and create an abstract or summary of title, detailing the ownership history, encumbrances, and other relevant legal information affecting the property.
- Maintaining up-to-date records of all drawings and revisions and coordinating with project teams to integrate survey data into project plans.
- Interpreting survey data to create detailed plans, sections, and elevations, and ensuring designs meet quality and safety standards.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of information gathered through thorough documentation and record-keeping practices.
- Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and procedures related to property titles and real estate transactions.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information and legal documents related to property titles.
