Job Description

Overview Join our Rio Delta Engineering team as a Land Surveyor Field Technician and be at the forefront of precision land measurement and mapping! In this role, you will support survey projects by collecting accurate data, operating advanced surveying equipment, and assisting in the creation of detailed land schematics. Your contributions will directly impact infrastructure development, construction projects, and land management initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills while working outdoors in diverse environments, ensuring every measurement is spot-on and every project is a success. Responsibilities Conduct field data collection using GPS devices, 3D scanners, and other surveying tools to capture precise land measurements. Assist in utility locating to identify underground utilities and prevent project delays or hazards. Operate hand tools and heavy lifting equipment safely to set up survey stations and transport necessary gear. Perform land surveying tasks including boundary determination, topographic surveys, and schematic documentation. Analyze collected data for accuracy using math skills such as algebra and trigonometry; prepare reports for project teams. Maintain detailed records of field activities, including sketches, schematics, and data logs for project documentation. Requirements Experience with GPS technology, GIS applications like ArcGIS, and data analysis skills to interpret survey results effectively. Familiarity with land surveying principles, construction processes, and schematic drafting techniques. Ability to operate survey-related equipment such as 3D scanners and utility locators confidently. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions; comfortable with long periods of standing or walking. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality data collection.
