Summary/Objective:
The Survey Technician plays a critical role in supporting our construction projects by conducting accurate field surveys and measurements for underground utility installations, excavation, and paving. This position requires a strong understanding of surveying principles, equipment, and software, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Essential Functions:

Conduct field surveys to collect data and measurements for underground utility construction projects. Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS units, and levels. Perform topographic, boundary, and as-built surveys to ensure accurate project execution. Assist in the preparation of survey maps, sketches, and reports using AutoCAD or other surveying software. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction crews to ensure accurate and efficient survey data collection and utilization. Identify and resolve any discrepancies in survey data and report any issues to project management. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal surveying regulations and standards. Maintain accurate records of survey data, field notes, and other relevant project documentation. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working in various field conditions. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Survey Technician or in a similar surveying role, preferably in underground utility construction. Proficiency in operating surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS units, and levels. Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, and other surveying software. Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and practices. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Physical ability to carry surveying equipment and tools. Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods.
