This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors and utilize cutting-edge surveying technology to gather critical measurements. As a Land Survey Technician, you will support survey crews by operating advanced equipment, collecting accurate data, and assisting in the creation of detailed land maps. Your contributions will directly impact project success and community development initiatives. Duties Operate survey instruments such as GPS units, total stations, 3D scanners, and data collectors to gather precise land measurements. Assist in setting up survey points using hand tools and marking schemes to ensure accurate data collection. Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities and prevent project delays or hazards. Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and GIS software like ArcGIS to process survey data into detailed schematics and maps. Perform field data collection for land surveying projects, including topographic surveys and boundary delineations. Analyze collected data through math, algebra, trigonometry, and geometry to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support construction teams by providing survey information essential for site layout and design implementation. Requirements Proven knowledge of land surveying principles combined with hands-on experience with GPS technology, 3D scanners, and CAD software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D. Strong understanding of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math fundamentals necessary for precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with utility locating techniques and schematics for underground infrastructure detection. Ability to operate hand tools safely and perform heavy lifting when required during fieldwork. Experience with GIS platforms like ArcGIS for spatial data analysis and mapping tasks. Excellent data collection skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality survey results. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and interpret technical drawings or schematics accurately. Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between job sites as needed; experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions is preferred.
