PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Specific Duties Perform field surveys to verify existing conditions, control points, and constructability constraints. Verify accurate layout using appropriate equipment and technologies for all building systems including utilities, foundations, structure, building enclosure, interiors, MEPF systems and site finishes to ensure precise installation. As part of QA/QC plan verify installed work complies with contract drawings, specifications, and BIM models. Assist the Superintendent with short-interval planning and look-ahead scheduling by providing field verification data of work in progress. Scanning, Reality Capture & As-Built Documentation Perform laser scanning, LiDAR capture, and photogrammetry for verification and as-built documentation. Operate drones (UAVs) for site survey, progress documentation, and as-built data collection when required. Process and organize scan, point cloud, and drone data for project use and records. Identify and communicate discrepancies between field conditions and design documents. Support model updates and turnover documentation using verified field data. Model & Data Integration Provide field-verified input to BIM/VDC teams to support coordination and clash resolution. Assist in updating construction models based on as-built conditions. Support quantity verification, earthwork analysis, and layout planning as required. Maintain accurate survey logs, field notes, and documentation. Support and enforce the site safety plan in coordination with the Site Safety Coordinator, and superintendent. Ensure all survey, layout, scanning, and drone activities meet safety and regulatory requirements. Immediately notify the Superintendent of any safety concerns or unsafe conditions. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or equivalent field experience verified by operations leadership. 5 years' experience with construction layout, surveying, and field engineering practices for all building types and systems. Proficiency with total stations, GPS equipment, and leveling instruments. Experience with laser scanning, LiDAR, and reality capture technologies preferred. Drone operation experience preferred; FAA Part 107 certification a plus. Familiarity with BIM/VDC tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Recap, Bluebeam, Procore, Excel, and Smartsheet. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.
