Job Description

Survey Department Manager (LS) About the Role One of our clients is seeking a Survey Department Manager (Licensed Surveyor) to oversee surveying operations, manage team workloads, and ensure high-quality deliverables for land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects. This role combines technical expertise with leadership and project management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Oversee preparation of boundary, topographic, ALTA, subdivision, and construction surveys Review and sign off on survey documents, including maps and legal descriptions Analyze deeds, easements, and title reports for boundary determination Process and validate field data to ensure compliance with regulations Collaborate with engineers, field crews, and clients to support project delivery Develop scopes, budgets, and proposals for survey services Manage project schedules, resources, and departmental workload Maintain organized survey records and documentation Lead team meetings and align on project priorities Mentor and support junior survey staff Qualifications Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (California) 5+ years of land surveying experience Strong knowledge of boundary law and mapping standards Excellent communication and analytical skills Preferred Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey software Experience working with public agencies for approvals Team leadership and resource management experience
