Full Job Description Overview:
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Survey Party Chief to join the Orange office! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage field survey teams for various projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data collection. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute survey projects. Conduct field surveys including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, construction staking, and control surveys. Communicate regularly with clients to provide project updates and address any concerns or inquiries. Ensure all survey activities comply with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Mentor and train junior survey staff, fostering a collaborative and professional team environment. Maintain detailed and organized project records, including field notes, reports, and data files. Utilize surveying equipment and software, ensuring all tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in a survey party chief role, with a focus on transportation-related projects. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related field preferred. Proven experience in managing projects and tasks, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to engage and interact with the public during project outreach activities. Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects, maintaining a high level of efficiency and productivity. Experience using Trimble software preferred
Salary Range:
$90,000 to $120,000
