Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Surveyor, the Transportation Surveyor Party Chief (TS-PC) is the first professional qualified supervisory level requiring a valid California Land Surveyors' License or equivalent. The TS-PC may be assigned the supervision of both professional and technical staff and shall be in direct and responsible charge of survey field crews and operations. Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver's license when operating State vehicles. The incumbent will be assigned work based on Divisional and/or Departmental needs and could be assigned to any office within District 8, which includes San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
