Job Description

A leading engineering and surveying firm is seeking a Survey Manager to join its Southern California team. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects across private land development and public works, while mentoring staff and contributing to the growth of a respected organization. Position Overview As Survey Manager, you'll oversee survey operations, manage project delivery, and support business development efforts. You'll work closely with internal teams and external clients to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant survey products. This is a leadership role with strong potential for career advancement. Key Responsibilities Project & Team Management Lead survey projects from proposal through completion. Ensure project goals are met on time and within budget. Provide mentorship and direction to junior staff. Support proposal writing, estimating, and client engagement. Technical Expertise Prepare CAD drawings for boundary surveys, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, subdivision maps, and as-built surveys. Conduct mapping research, boundary analysis, calculations, and legal description preparation. Ensure compliance with California Subdivision Map Act, Professional Surveyors Act, and local codes. Review and process deliverables with city and county agencies. Software & Tools Proficiency in Civil 3D preferred; MicroStation Inroads is a plus. Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, Carlson software, Bluebeam, Word, and Excel. Previous field experience is a plus. Qualifications California PLS license preferred. Minimum 5 years of office mapping experience in land development and public works. Strong leadership and communication skills. Deep understanding of California surveying regulations and practices.
