Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)
Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and execute instructions on specific survey assignments, objectives, and complex project featuresPerform a variety of in-office and field tasks related to land surveying projectsOperate surveying equipment including Total Stations, data collectors, GPS RTK, and static GPS systemsAccurately calculate, record, and review field dataReview project specifications and develop fieldwork methods and cost considerationsApply standard scientific and engineering principles, exercising professional judgment to adapt methods as needed in the field and officeDownload, review, and process field dataPrepare clear and accurate field notes and sketches documenting existing site conditionsDraft and edit surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3DPrepare detailed daily job reports and communicate project status with supervisors on a regular basisMaintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex surveying instrumentationPerform additional duties as assignedEducation & QualificationsProfessional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required in the State of ConnecticutMinimum of 6+ years of progressive land surveying experienceStrong knowledge of survey calculations, techniques, and proceduresDemonstrated ability to use sound professional judgment and work independentlyProficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred) and survey-related softwareStrong computer skills with the ability to learn new technologiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsValid driver's license
