at AECOM in Newark, Delaware, United States Job Description Job Description The Digital Practice and Technology Team is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Site Land Surveyor Crew Chief for immediate employment in the Newark, DE office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Land Surveying specific to engineering consulting services. This opportunity affords the ideal candidate the following: Exposure to a variety of large and complex projects including, but not limited to, Transportation projects•rail/roadway, environmental surveys and more. Exposure to multiple industry/business line sectors. Access to new and state of the art equipment to complete surveying functions. Opportunities for upward advancement and career growth. Opportunity to travel to multiple project sites nationally, with per diem financial support. Primary job functions include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for operation and care of all survey instruments including Total Station, level, and GPS. Will be responsible for performing property surveys, topographic survey and mapping, construction stakeout and other survey projects for private, government and commercial clients. Read and understand survey notes, sketches, maps, deeds, as-builts, construction plans and drawings and records. Use appropriate survey equipment, conventional, GPS/GNSS and laser scanning, to efficiently and accurately perform a wide range of field survey procedures. • Take survey field notes, sketches, and other written records on a daily basis. Perform QA/QC to verify that the data complies with the project requirements. Performs basic maintenance of the survey field equipment and understand its operation. Keep survey field vehicle in good condition. Understand and follow all applicable safety procedures. Travel up to 70% for up to 3•10 days at a time.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (i.e.•Associate's Degree plus 6 years of experience or High School diploma or equivalent and 8 years of experience) Valid Driver's License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites, and as a condition of employment must pass
AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity and download procedures•raw data processing AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation platforms Excel/Word Software Railroad knowledge or experience a plus Experience with Federal and government clients a plus Willingness to travel extensively to multiple project sites from 3-10 days at a time. Up to 70% travel with a varied work load 4 years of site surveying with railroad and/or DOT knowledge or experience a plus Experience supervising site survey teams Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $75000 to $100000.
