Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Land Surveying Rodman to join our field survey crew. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the land surveying industry. The Rodman assists the Crew Chief and Instrument Operator with field data collection, equipment setup, and survey operations on a variety of residential, commercial, and construction projects.
Duties:
Assist the survey crew with daily field operations. Carry and position survey rods, prisms, stakes, and other survey equipment. Help set up and maintain GPS receivers, total stations, and other surveying instruments. Mark survey points, property corners, and construction staking locations. Clear vegetation and obstacles when necessary to obtain line of sight. Load, unload, and maintain survey equipment and vehicles. Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times. Assist with field notes, measurements, and data collection. Perform other duties as assigned by the Crew Chief.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous surveying or construction experience is a plus but not required. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Reliable transportation and punctual attendance. Willingness to learn survey procedures and equipment. Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Skills:
Basic math skills. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Good communication skills. Mechanical aptitude is a plus. Experience with GPS or survey equipment is a plus but not required.

Starting at $16.00 per hour Training Provided No prior land surveying experience is required. We provide on the job training for motivated candidates who are eager to learn the surveying profession. Training will include the use of survey equipment, field procedures, safety protocols, construction staking, GPS and total station operations, and general surveying practices.
