This role is vital in ensuring precise data collection, accurate mapping, and compliance with industry standards. As a Land Surveying Manager, you will coordinate survey operations, manage technical teams, and implement innovative surveying techniques to support civil engineering, construction, and land development projects. Your leadership will drive project success through meticulous planning, technical expertise, and strategic oversight. Responsibilities Lead and supervise land surveying teams to execute field data collection, boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, and construction staking with precision and efficiency. Oversee the use of advanced surveying equipment including GPS systems, 3D scanners, Trimble devices, and total stations to gather accurate spatial data. Develop detailed survey plans utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and ArcGIS software to produce comprehensive schematics and mapping outputs. Ensure all survey activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols while maintaining high-quality documentation. Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, construction managers, and clients to interpret project requirements and deliver precise survey results that support project timelines. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to optimize workflow and meet client expectations. Stay current with emerging surveying technologies such as GIS applications, 3D modeling techniques, and data collection methods to enhance operational efficiency. Skills Extensive knowledge of land surveying principles including geometry, trigonometry, algebra, and math fundamentals necessary for accurate measurements. Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS), AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson Software, and other CAD programs for drafting and mapping purposes. Experience operating advanced survey equipment such as GPS units (Trimble), 3D scanners, total stations, and data collectors for precise fieldwork. Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts related to construction layout, schematics development, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), and boundary determination. Ability to interpret complex schematics and technical drawings while ensuring adherence to project specifications. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while motivating team members. Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical findings clearly.
