The perfect person for this job is a team player who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced yet supported environment in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of teamwork, the ability to work independently on assignments, handle multiple projects at one time while remaining flexible, and working within tight deadlines. Assistant Field Engineer's responsibilities include operating electronic total station instrument, transit, Auto level and other surveying instruments. Reads, reviews, and interprets maps, drawings and diagrams. Sets and marks stakes for slopes, grades and other construction purposes. Determines and sets markers. Determines lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions and distances. Maintains total station and field book. Maintains survey equipment and tools. Performs related field and office engineering work. Requirements for this position include a year construction/surveying experience using total station and site levels. High school diploma/GED, complete understanding of surveying math, and good communication skills required Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment, work outside and must be able to work overtime and weekend hours. Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
