Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Surveyor to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the precision and accuracy of construction projects from start to finish. As a Construction Surveyor, you will utilize advanced surveying techniques, cutting-edge technology, and comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering principles to establish accurate land boundaries, set out construction layouts, and monitor progress throughout various phases of development. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful execution of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Duties Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, 3D scanners, and other advanced surveying equipment to gather precise data for project planning and execution. Interpret and apply complex schematics, drawings, and technical specifications to establish accurate site layouts using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Carlson software. Perform detailed land surveying tasks including ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), topographic mapping, boundary establishment, and right-of-way delineation. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools such as ArcGIS to analyze spatial data and support project decision-making processes. Collect data with Trimble technology and other CAD tools to create detailed site models, 3D representations, and schematics for construction planning. Collaborate closely with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure survey data aligns with design intent and construction schedules. Monitor ongoing construction activities by performing regular site inspections, verifying layout accuracy, and making real-time adjustments as needed. Maintain meticulous records of survey data, field notes, sketches, and reports to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards. Support the integration of new surveying technologies such as laser scanning (3D scanners) and drone-based data collection to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience in land surveying within civil engineering or construction environments; familiarity with large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred. Strong proficiency in survey software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, Carlson, GIS (ArcGIS), and Schematics drafting tools. Extensive knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, math fundamentals essential for precise measurements and calculations. Hands-on experience operating GPS units (including Trimble), total stations, 3D scanners, and other survey instruments. Solid understanding of civil engineering principles related to land development, construction layout, ALTA surveys, and data collection techniques. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while translating them into real-world site measurements. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; capable of troubleshooting technical issues swiftly on-site. Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and documenting survey findings clearly.
