Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic land surveying team as a Land Survey Crew Chief, where you will lead field operations, coordinate survey activities, and ensure precise data collection for a variety of land surveying, civil engineering, and construction projects. Our firm has a legacy of surveying southeastern MA for over 70 years. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee survey crews, utilize advanced surveying technology, review and analyze historical deed information, and contribute to the successful completion of complex land development initiatives. As a key leader on-site, you will combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills to deliver accurate results efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Lead and supervise survey crew members during land surveying operations, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety protocols. Perform Deed Research. Manage and schedule your time to attend to the proposed projects and lead team members. Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment such as GPS units, total stations, and robotic instruments for precise data collection Conduct utility locating to identify underground infrastructure using specialized tools and techniques Prepare drawings, and reports using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Carlson software to document survey findings Perform calculations involving trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math principles to determine property boundaries and topographical feature. Oversee others drafting and field measurements, and provide technical reviews. Skills Strong knowledge of land surveying principles combined with practical experience in data collection and analysis Able to perform deed research and reconstruct historical plans. Skilled in CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Carlson for drafting and design work Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping applications Ability to review others plans prior to stamping. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
