June 10, 2026 Responsibilities What you'll do Performs field survey data collection and provide office support work as needed to support capital projects and investigations, ensuring accurate and reliable survey data. Assists with the implementation and completion of major survey assignments, often managing multiple projects simultaneously while following oral and written instructions. Supports the collection, processing, production, and distribution of survey data and deliverables used for preliminary design efforts, City projects, and acquisitions. Assists with creating record drawings and as-built drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness for project documentation. Assists with staking right-of-way boundaries, easements, property lines, grading, and determining the extent of right-of-way or easement encroachments in support of capital projects. Assists with legal descriptions, exhibits, research of documents, technical assistance to internal and external customers, coordination with utilities, departments, and agencies, respond to correspondence and calls, and perform other duties as assigned. What success looks like Field survey data is collected accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established standards. Survey data, drawings, and deliverables are complete, reliable, and ready for use by project teams. Multiple assignments are managed effectively without missed deadlines. Internal and external partners receive timely, professional technical support. Work reflects sound judgment and discretion in both field and office settings. For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical. If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
