The Field Development Coordinator (FDC) is r esponsible for providing expert field evaluations, managing adjuster meeting strategy, validating insurance scopes, supporting construction readiness, and serving as the market's primary field authority. The role requires independent judgment, specialized decision-making, and consistent coordination across sales, operations, and production teams. The role serves as SmartRoof's primary on-site representative for insurance adjuster meetings and construction support activities within their assigned market. This role ensures accurate damage verification, comprehensive scope documentation, and professional representation of SmartRoof during all opportunities. In addition, the Field Development Coordinator provides ongoing construction-related support to the market team—including preparation, documentation, and technical field assistance. THE RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Adjuster Meeting Strategy & Market Coverage Serve as the designated SmartRoof representative for all scheduled insurance adjuster meetings within the market. Apply professional judgment to verify damage findings, confirm scope accuracy, and advocate for fair and complete insurance approvals. Manage adjuster meeting expectations proactively as the default assignment through SmartRoof's CRM scheduling system. Provide expert assessments and recommendations to internal stakeholders based on meeting outcomes. 2. Construction Support & Technical Field Oversight Conduct field evaluations requiring specialized knowledge of roofing systems, restoration standards, and insurance claim processes. Execute minor or temporary repairs when necessary to protect property integrity and ensure proper documentation for claim support. Complete pre-construction site evaluations and quality checks, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions. Interpret and advise teams on material specifications, scope language, construction documents, and insurer-provided details. 3. Field Documentation, Reporting, and Technical Analysis Complete ITEL sampling and submissions with accuracy to ensure proper material matching and coverage decisions. Capture detailed structural and exterior measurements using Hover or other approved digital tools. Generate missed-damage reports using independent evaluation and professional expertise to ensure full-scope coverage. Measure and document roof penetrations and components according to SmartRoof standards. Maintain organized field notes, digital reports, photo documentation, and system updates following each site visit. 4. Market-Level Construction Support & Cross-Department Insight Act as the construction and scope authority for pre-sales inquiries within the market. Provide insights, recommendations, and field-based feedback to sales, production, and operations to enhance job readiness and performance. Identify field trends, workflow gaps, and recurring issues, and proactively recommend process improvements to leadership. 5. Professional Representation & Safety Compliance Represent SmartRoof with professionalism, courtesy, and expertise when interacting with homeowners, insurance adjusters, contractors, and third-party partners. Uphold company standards for communication, appearance, and documentation at all times. Follow all OSHA and SmartRoof safety protocols while on job sites, ensuring safe and consistent field execution. Performance Expectations Targeting above 30% full approval rate on insurance-related business. Consistent participation and punctual attendance at all adjuster meetings. Ideally 30-60 minutes prior to adjuster meetings. Accurate and complete documentation within company systems. Responsiveness to market and company communication. • Consistent professional conduct and adherence to SmartRoof quality standards. THE COMPENSATION
Base Salary:
$38,000 per year Commission:
