We are currently seeking a Survey Party Chief to add to our growing Talisman team. The position is based out of Salt Lake City, with typical sites across the Salt Lake Valley and occasional travel beyond the region. This is a great opportunity for a skilled and passionate self-starter to work directly with high-profile land development projects, shaping the lands of Utah. The party chief will work within a highly collaborative, fun-loving, busy work environment. The Survey Party Chief is responsible for conducting field survey activities that may include construction layout, boundary surveys, utility surveys, topography in rugged terrain, control network, and as-built surveying on a wide variety of projects. Travel expenses are paid, and a company truck is provided. This position will also require close coordination with Talisman's civil engineering staff as well.

Responsibilities:

Must have knowledge of professional surveying practices and procedures and state and federal laws affecting land surveying and boundaries Must be proficient with the operation and maintenance of Trimble total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, Leica high-definition scanners, and other various measuring instruments Must be proficient with electronic data collection systems and processes; must be able to download and process data files, and perform complex survey computations using various software programs (i.e., Trimble Business Center and Leica) Thoroughly inspects and checks deliverables for accuracy and correctness

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years experience in boundary and construction surveying Minimum of 2 years managing a field crew High School diploma or equivalent required Ability to travel out of town during the week with a rare exception of two-week trips Current Driver's License in order to operate motor vehicles within the state of Utah Ability to pass a drug and background check
