We're currently hiring for an Entry Level Survey Technician in Charleston, SC!
Job Description:
We are seeking a driven and hard-working individual with some experience in surveying to join our team. You will work alongside the survey party crew chief on various projects throughout South Carolina, ranging from DOT, Commercial, Federal, Government, Industrial, Power Companies to Warehouses.
Responsibilities:
Locate, review, and research job locations to identify landmarks, physical objects, and significant land changes affecting the survey. Supervise the work of the survey crew, evaluate priorities, and coordinate and organize work efforts. Ensure the standard of work is maintained and perform necessary field calculations. Oversee the maintenance of instruments and equipment. Ensure accuracy of angles, distances, and other collected information, ensuring conformity to regulations and standards. Coordinate findings with engineering personnel, clients, and other project stakeholders. Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, and other records to collect necessary data. Determine methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control. Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches detailing the work performed. Complete daily logs and expense reports. Ensure safety compliance by completing safety forms and ensuring all crew members adhere to safety procedures. Consult with computer operators and review the final production of work performed. Familiarity with commonly used surveying terms and the use and care of survey tools and equipment is required. Proficiency in the operation of survey equipment such as Total Station/Data Collector, Level, and various Global Positioning System (GPS) methods. Essential Skills Experience with land surveying is a plus. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Willingness to travel as needed. Hard-working with excellent communication skills. Experience with data collection, Total Station, topography, and construction stakeout. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 0-1 years of surveying experience.
Good technical skills:
process-oriented, steady, analytical, problem-solving, likes working alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail-oriented, precise, likes structure. Valid driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and negative drug test result. Work Environment The role involves some overnight travel and requires a lot of walking outdoors through various terrains and extreme weather conditions. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with overtime based on project load. The position is based in the Charleston office, with approximately 50% travel involved. The technician must be willing to travel as necessary.

!! Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
