Job Description
Utility Field Surveyor (Entry Level) - 1099 Contractor - Tennessee GenXC Group is hiring Utility Field Surveyors (OSP Fielders) for fiber-optic projects throughout the state of Tennessee. This is a full-time, entry-level, 1099 independent contractor position. Training is provided. This role requires frequent travel across Tennessee to visit project sites in different cities and rural areas. Candidates must be comfortable driving long distances and working outdoors daily. A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license in good standing are required. What You'll Do Visit field locations and collect accurate data Take photos and enter information into a mobile app Read maps, prints, and OSP construction documents Identify poles, cables, pedestals, handholes, and other utility infrastructure Walk outdoor routes and record measurements Upload photos and completed forms Follow safety guidelines and meet project deadlines Requirements Valid driver's license with good driving record Reliable personal vehicle Willingness and ability to travel throughout Tennessee Ability to walk long distances and lift 25-30 lbs Smartphone for photos, apps, and communication High school diploma or GED Basic construction, utility, or telecom knowledge is a plus Land surveying or OSP experience is helpful but not required Pay Per Foot (Paid based on production) Location Field-based outdoor work Projects located throughout Tennessee If you're reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working outdoors and traveling across the state, we'd love to hear from you.
