Job Summary:
•The Survey Manager for Primoris Pipeline will lead and oversee all surveying operations for pipeline projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. This role involves managing survey teams, equipment, and data to support project execution from planning through construction and as-built documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
•Plan, organize, and direct all surveying activities for pipeline projects, including route surveys, construction staking, topographic mapping, and as-built surveys. Manage and supervise survey crews, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Ensure the accuracy and quality of all survey data and deliverables, implementing strict quality control procedures. Select, operate, and maintain surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, LiDAR, and other advanced technologies. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, environmental specialists, and other stakeholders to integrate survey data into project designs and construction plans. Interpret and apply applicable surveying laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., PLS, ALTA, NSPS). Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules for surveying operations. Oversee data processing, analysis, and mapping using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation). Develop and implement safety protocols for all surveying activities, ensuring a safe working environment. Represent Primoris Services Corporation in interactions with clients, landowners, and regulatory agencies regarding survey matters. Maintain accurate records of all survey data, reports, and communications. Proactively identify and resolve survey-related issues and challenges during project execution.
Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is required. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in land surveying, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably within the pipeline or heavy civil construction industry. Extensive experience with various surveying technologies, including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, and LiDAR. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation) and surveying data processing software. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local surveying regulations and standards. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging field environments. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
