Job Description

Description Percheron is seeking an experienced Survey Technical Supervisor to oversee the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all technical Survey deliverables produced by our teams. This role is primarily responsible for QA/QC oversight, technical reviews, and the development of standards, procedures, and protocols across multiple survey-related outputs. The Technical Lead will not directly manage staff but will function as a technical authority and mentor, ensuring all drawings and deliverables meet established standards, client expectations, and industry best practices. This individual will play a key role in developing technical talent, improving processes, and elevating the quality of work across the organization. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Technical Oversight & QA/QC Perform comprehensive QA/QC and SOP review of all facets of data processing and data deliverable production. Work with the Mapping Leads to ensure technical deliverables meet internal standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Identify inconsistencies, errors, or gaps in deliverables and work with teams to correct and prevent recurrence. Serve as the final technical checkpoint prior to client submission when required. Standards, Processes, & Protocols Develop, document, and maintain technical standards, procedures, workflows, and QA/QC checklists for all survey data-driven deliverables. Establish consistent standards and best practices across the survey technical group. Continuously evaluate and improve QA/QC processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Mentorship & Technical Development Train, mentor, and guide team members on best practices, technical standards, and quality expectations. Support the development of junior and mid-level staff through technical coaching and review feedback. Act as a subject matter expert for survey, mapping, and pipeline-related technical questions. Field & Industry Expertise Leverage hands-on field experience to inform technical decisions and evaluate deliverables for real-world accuracy and constructability. Provide insight into a wide range of survey work, including boundary, topographic, pipeline, and right-of-way-related surveying and mapping. Bridge field practices with office production to ensure practical, high-quality outcomes. Collaboration & Billable Work Remain 50% billable, contributing to active projects while balancing QA/QC and process leadership responsibilities. Collaborate closely with project teams, leadership, and operations to ensure alignment on quality expectations and deliverables. Other Duties as assigned. Job Requirements Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in field surveying, survey drafting, pipeline mapping, or related technical disciplines. Extensive experience performing technical reviews and QA/QC of survey deliverables. Strong industry knowledge across surveying, pipeline, mapping, and field operations. Ability to develop and implement technical standards, procedures, and QA/QC protocols. Proven ability to train and mentor technical staff and elevate overall work quality. Hands-on experience working in the field on various types of survey projects. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and consistency. Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player. Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills. Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted). Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications SIT or PLS (preferred but not required). Senior Survey Technician or similar leadership-level technical experience. Advanced proficiency with Trimble Business Center, Autodesk CAD software, and survey/mapping technologies is required. Experience serving as a technical authority without direct people management responsibilities. Physical and Work Environment Spends 100% of the time in an office environment. Required to sit, use hands to finger handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. Occasionally life and or move up to 25 pounds. This jobs specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
