Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a survey crew during fieldwork and ensure accurate data collection. We primarily run two-man crews or three-man if the job necessitates. You won't be sent out with the robot or rover as your only companion. Oversee boundary and right-of-way calculations and interpret client/contractor provided plan sheets. We do our best to provide our field crew with as much information as possible prior to heading to a site but field calculations are still necessary on occasion. Conduct legal research related to land surveys. We maintain remote access subscriptions with several municipalities but occasionally courthouse research is still required. Use a Total Station, GPS Rover, Level, and other equipment to conduct Boundary, ALTA, Construction & Topographic surveys. Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure accurate survey results and a hospitable work environment.

Qualifications:

Field experience in Rodman, I-Man, Party Chief progression roles leading towards LSIT or LS Certification. Proficiency in using surveying equipment, including Leica Total Stations, Leica Capitvate and Carlson SurvPC, experience is helpful, but will train. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Knowledge of boundary calculations and legal survey requirements. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to walk, crouch, access & invert Storm/Sanitary/Misc. Utility structures, and carry equipment across diverse terrains in all seasons. Possess a valid Virginia driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
