Job Description

The Sustainability Business Integration Lead plays a critical role in embedding sustainability, resilience and social impact into how Jacobs wins work and delivers projects. The role partners closely with Global Sales and Global Project Delivery to translate sustainability strategy, commitments and tools into practical, repeatable, value‑adding actions across pursuits, projects and client delivery. Reporting into Global Sustainability, this role acts as a connector between strategy and execution—supporting the Sustainability Director in governance and performance oversight, while directly enabling sales teams and delivery teams to integrate sustainability into day‑to‑day business decisions, project workflows and client outcomes. Purpose of the Role The purpose of the role is to accelerate real-world sustainability delivery by making sustainability easier to apply in sales and delivery environments. The role focuses on activation, integration and consistency—helping teams move from ambition and commitments to on‑the‑ground execution that creates value for clients, supports growth, manages risk and demonstrates measurable impact. The role acts as a strategic and delivery partner to Global Sales and Global Project Delivery teams, working alongside corporate functions to translate sustainability priorities into practical, value‑adding outcomes. Key Responsibilities Sustainability & Resilience Business Integration Support the integration of sustainability and resilience into sales, project delivery, and business management systems, working alongside Global Sustainability leadership. Translate sustainability strategy, priorities and targets into clear workflows, tools and guidance for sales and delivery teams. Support business units and project teams to identify, plan, monitor and communicate sustainability outcomes within projects. Partner with Global Sales and Global Project Delivery leaders to ensure sustainability is embedded into core ways of working. Assist with integration into platforms and processes across our client management, sales, project delivery and business management platforms, systems, tools and procedures. Help convert enterprise sustainability goals into specific, actionable steps teams can apply in pursuits and project execution. Sales‑to‑Delivery Sustainability Integration Act as a key sustainability partner to Global Sales, supporting pursuit teams to position sustainability and resilience as drivers of client value and differentiation. Strengthen the connection between sustainability commitments made in pursuits and delivery of those commitments on projects. Support embedding sustainability into pursuit, initiation, planning, execution and close‑out stages of project delivery. Help sales and delivery teams articulate sustainability objectives, risks and opportunities in client conversations and win strategies. Support teams to align commitments with execution plans, project controls, indicators, reporting needs and client expectations. Enable project teams to document outcomes, lessons learned and impact so delivery insights feed back into future pursuits and client storytelling. Tools Enablement & Digital Workflow Support Support sustainability digital tools and workflows that help teams identify commitments, manage risk, track performance and demonstrate impact. Act as a sustainability business partner to IT, analytics, digital product teams and SMEs, translating user needs into practical enhancements. Contribute to training, user guidance, adoption strategies and feedback loops for sustainability tools such as Evolve. Help ensure tools reduce burden on teams while improving decision‑making, consistency and data quality. Support change management activities that help sales and delivery teams confidently adopt sustainability workflows. Governance, Metrics, Risk & Reporting Integration Integration Lead Responsibilities (Execution‑Focused) Support integration of sustainability and resilience into pre‑award and post‑award project risk processes. Help define how sustainability performance and project impact are captured, validated and reused for delivery improvement and client value. Support consistent data capture and documentation to enable audit readiness, reporting credibility and external disclosures. Help delivery and sales teams understand what "good" looks like in sustainability execution and reporting. Supporting the Sustainability Director (Governance, Policy & Regulation) Support the Sustainability Director in the development and operation of governance frameworks, controls, KPIs and performance measurement approaches. Contribute to sustainability dashboards, metrics, management information and executive‑level reporting inputs. Partner with risk, quality, finance, legal, ESG reporting and operations teams to align sustainability governance with enterprise processes. Social Impact Enablement Support social value, community investment and human rights integration in ways that align with client expectations, delivery practice and business objectives. Partner with our people and culture teams to support global giving, volunteering and partnership programmes from a delivery integration perspective. Help connect social impact activity to projects, client value and employee engagement, rather than standalone programmes. Ensure social impact tools, language and approaches are consistent with governance, legal and delivery requirements. Stakeholder Engagement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration Act as a day‑to‑day integrator across Global Sustainability, Sales, Project Delivery, Operations, Risk and Digital teams. Build strong working relationships with sales leaders, pursuit teams, project managers and delivery leaders. Partner with People & Culture teams to support social impact, inclusion and belonging priorities, and with HSSE teams to enable integration of environmental sustainability across project delivery and operational practices. Support engagement, training and materials that help teams understand why sustainability matters and how to apply it practically. Represent Global Sustainability in cross‑functional initiatives focused on delivery excellence, risk, digital enablement and client value. Key Outcomes Stronger, more consistent sustainability integration across sales and project delivery. Improved follow‑through from pursuit commitments to delivery outcomes. Practical tools and workflows that make sustainability easier and clearer for teams. More reliable sustainability data and evidence from project delivery. Clearer articulation of sustainability business value for clients and growth teams. Stronger alignment between Global Sustainability, Sales and Global Project Delivery. Advanced degree in Sustainability or a related field. Experience integrating sustainability into business, sales or delivery environment Experience designing and implementing new processes, tools and change management approaches to embed sustainability into business operations and deliver measurable outcomes.
