Mobile, AL Pay Rate:
$27-30/hr
Schedule:
Mon-Fri 12-hour shifts We are seeking a highly skilled Subsea Test Technician with experience in oil & gas, subsea systems, or heavy manufacturing environments. This role is critical to ensuring the quality, integrity, and performance of subsea umbilicals, distribution equipment (DE), and related systems prior to deployment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with fiber optics, electrical testing, and high-pressure hydrostatic testing , and thrives in a fast-paced, safety-driven production environment. Key Responsibilities Subsea Testing & Validation Perform fiber optic testing and splicing (OSP certification preferred) on subsea umbilicals and related systems Conduct low voltage (?1000V) and medium voltage (6000V+) cable testing, including: Conductor and insulation resistance Continuity and impedance Crosstalk/attenuation High potential (hipot) testing Verify system integrity prior to client delivery and offshore deployment Hydrostatic Pressure Testing Perform and assist with hydrostatic pressure testing of subsea umbilicals and DE equipment (10,000-30,000 PSI) Set up, monitor, and validate high-pressure test systems Conduct leak detection and ensure compliance with testing procedures and specifications Equipment Operation & Maintenance Operate and maintain high-pressure water jet systems and Hydratron pumps Configure and monitor digital data acquisition systems (CompactRIO, NI systems, pressure transducers, etc.) Maintain working knowledge of pumps, manifolds, fittings, and pressure ratings Data Analysis & Troubleshooting Accurately capture and document all test data using digital recording systems Interpret test results (graphs, charts, and datasets) to determine pass/fail criteria Troubleshoot test equipment and product issues to ensure operational readiness Identify and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support corrective actions Technical & Operational Support Read and interpret electrical, fiber optic, and hydraulic schematics Monitor and report tool and equipment status Support production and assembly teams as needed Safety & Work Environment Adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Maintain a clean and organized workspace in alignment with high-spec assembly standards Promote a strong safety culture within a high-pressure testing environment Communication & Teamwork Provide clear updates on production status, testing progress, and shift handoffs Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Experience in oil & gas, subsea, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments strongly preferred Proven experience with fiber optic testing, electrical testing, and high-pressure systems Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex systems Strong understanding of test equipment, schematics, and data interpretation Preferred Local Candidates to Mobile area Genesis Staffing provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
