Job Title:
Electrical Test Technician Job Description The Electrical Test Technician will engage in HVAC test operations at high efficiency, performing basic to moderately complex technical tasks that contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Responsibilities Operate, inspect, and maintain chillers, test setups, and equipment. Work with electrical equipment, including 460-3-60 machinery, HVAC operations, and refrigerant handling. Calibrate laboratory equipment to measure pressure, temperature, flow, and electrical measurements. Select, connect, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems. Perform loop calibration and configure valves for single/double loop configurations. Operate, troubleshoot, and calibrate Power Management/VFDs, boilers, and valve configurations. Coach team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and report results/issues to drive resolution. Advocate for a safe workspace, support lab uptime by reporting instrument failures, and enhance preventive maintenance. Collect and report test status, apply and teach measurement techniques, write test reports, and troubleshoot systems. Proactively resolve testing hurdles by consulting with development and process partners. Essential Skills High School Diploma or
GED NFPA
Certification 5+ years of experience in HVAC/Chiller operations and mechanical/electrical machinery. Experience with hand/pneumatic tools, advanced shop mathematics, and precision measuring instruments. Additional Skills & Qualifications AS or AAS in a related technical field, Technical/Business School Certificate, or Skilled Trades Apprenticeship. Proven ability in independently leading/running chillers and reporting results. Expertise in loop tuning and drive test cycle/loop efficiency. Technical expertise in HVAC design and components. Understanding of closed-loop control systems and loop stability. Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Work Environment The role requires lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed, and climbing portable ladders. Usage of Personal Protection Equipment is mandatory. The position requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, and the facility includes electric charging stations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
