Test Range Operations Job Description Applies technical knowledge of electronics, mechanical, and computer skills in support of operations and routine maintenance on various Doppler tracking radar systems and their peripheral equipment. Sets up radar and instrumentation van at remote locations, operating the radar system in support of test mission, and system tear-down once testing is complete. Performs post-test data reduction and quality control using manufacturer analytical software or other tools. Skills required include a fluency with computers, use of test equipment (such as Spectrum Analyzers, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes), and basic hand tools to support radar systems. Works independently supporting operations and maintenance efforts with minimal direction. Guides a small group of technicians and manage small projects. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. Mentors junior technicians. Provides guidance to small teams of technicians. Performs Quality Control on work products. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications Pay Rate:

$37.65

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have one of the following: ten (10) years' related experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years' related experience., OR an Associate's degree / Military training in a related field and five (5) years' related experience.
• Primary operator qualified on at least two (2) major Radar systems: Weibel, Mortar Tracking System, Pulse Radar (TPQ-39 and MPS-25).
• Experience using test equipment like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and Spectrum Analyzers.

Job Skills Requirements:

• Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
• Must be proficient with hand tools.
• Must be able to perform post data reduction & system maintenance.
• Capable of using test equipment and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Must possess radar theory knowledge and experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
• Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and standing.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. unassisted.
• Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Radar Section.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

• Specialized experience with

AN/MPS-25, TPQ-39

Acquisition Radar, Weibel mono-pulse tracking radar, or Mortar Tracking System.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
• Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
