Job Overview: We are seeking a Hardware Operations Lead to oversee daily operations related to RMA repair, production testing, and cable assembly/rework of electronic hardware systems. This role combines hands-on technical execution with team leadership and operational ownership. The Lead will supervise technicians, ensure production targets and quality standards are met, and serve as the primary escalation point between Hardware Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams. This is a hands-on leadership role (non-design engineering) requiring strong experience in electronic repair, system troubleshooting, and Linux-based test environments, along with the ability to lead and develop technicians in a fast-paced production setting. Key Responsibilities: Lead daily production testing, repair, and rework activities based on delivery schedules Assign and oversee technician tasks and production priorities Perform and support troubleshooting, soldering, and system testing Execute and troubleshoot Linux-based test scripts and firmware updates Maintain test equipment, tools, and workstations Ensure product quality and documentation accuracy Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve issues Support continuous improvement of repair and test processes Required Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in electronics repair, production testing, or hardware operations Strong hands-on experience with: Electronic troubleshooting and repair SMT/SMD and through-hole soldering, including component-level PCB rework (removal and replacement of components) Ability to reliably rework minimum 0603 components; experience with 0402 components preferred Experience using soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and ESD-safe techniques Cable assembly, crimping, and connector work Electrical tools (e.g., multimeter) Experience with Linux OS and basic shell script execution Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation Strong documentation skills and attention to detail Proven ability to lead, mentor, and work independently Preferred Qualifications: Prior Lead or Supervisor experience in a hardware or manufacturing environment Experience with RMA processes, failure analysis, and quality inspection Familiarity with automated test systems and firmware updates Technical certification or degree in Electronics or a related field Experience working in an ESD-controlled environment Familiarity with •IPC standards such as IPC J-STD-001 and
IPC/WHMA-A-620
