DEL PUESTO

Este puesto apoya al Técnico de Mejoramiento de Semilla Híbrida 3 en la realización de diversas tareas relacionadas con el cultivo, la polinización y la cosecha de parcelas de frambuesa de semillas híbridas.

FUNCIONES ESENCIALES DEL PUESTO

Cosechar parcelas de frambuesa manualmente, extraer y empacar semillas. Limpiar y mantener túneles, macetas y plantas. Realizar tareas de polinización manual, como emasculación, polinización y extracción de polen. Comprender cómo podar plantas y eliminar maleza utilizando herramientas. Registrar información sobre las parcelas en una computadora. Mantener un ambiente de trabajo seguro y profesional, asegurando la limpieza del rancho y participando en reuniones semanales/mensuales. Garantizar la seguridad de toda la información confidencial y propietaria de Driscoll's. Realizar otras tareas asignadas relacionadas con las operaciones agrícolas.

CALIFICACIONES DEL PUESTO

Capacidad para trabajar en equipo y colaborar con otros miembros para lograr objetivos comunes. Puntualidad y capacidad de llegar al trabajo a la hora programada. Capacidad para trabajar en campo, permaneciendo de pie por periodos prolongados y realizando flexiones frecuentes. Bilingüe (español/inglés) preferido pero no requerido. Capacidad para levantar hasta 35 libras.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position supports the Hybrid Seed Breeding Technician 3 in performing numerous tasks related to growing, pollinating and harvesting hybrid seed raspberry plots.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

:

• Harvest raspberry plots by hand, extract and pack seeds.
• Clear and maintain tunnels, pots and plants.
• Manually perform pollination tasks, such as emasculation, pollination, and pollen extraction.
• Understand how to prune plants and weed with tools.
• Record information about plots in computer.
• Maintains a safe and professional work environment by ensuring cleanliness of ranch and participating in weekly/monthly meetings.
• Ensures the security of all Driscoll's proprietary and confidential information.
• Performs other duties as assigned related to agricultural operations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with other crew members in achieving team goals.
• Must be punctual and arrive to work at the scheduled hour.
• Must be able to work in a field setting that requires being in a standing position for an extended period of time with frequent bending.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
