Job Description

Test Technician II Do you have a passion for quality, electronics manufacturing and dazzling customers with performance? Do you want to join a team-based culture that "Manufactures Success?" Delta Group Electronics is seeking a Test Technician II based at its San Diego, California facility. This position is responsible for designing, configuring test fixtures, and developing test procedures; and performing advanced functional tests, inspections, diagnostics/troubleshooting, to ensure completed assemblies meet design specifications and are within quality limits and standards. Also, this position is responsible for communicating both internally and externally regarding testing requirements and/or results.
Hourly Range:
$24.00

Our customers range from Mil-Aero Defense OEM's and integrators to cutting edge Medical Device Equipment companies. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Develops test procedures, methods, fixtures, and programs based on customer-provisioned drawings and schematics. Creates controlled Delta specific documents necessary to supplement customer test procedures to ensure consistent setup and execution of required testing. Collaborates with customers regarding test and troubleshooting requirements. Trains and provides guidance internally to Test Operators and Test Technicians regarding methods and test procedures. Performs the set-up and testing of products, subassemblies, mechanical assemblies. Recognizes failures and set-up problems and determines the need for appropriate corrective action. Operates test software on standard computer systems. Completes technical assessment of company products and customer RMAs, to include PCBAs and electronic components. Performs or oversees rework, debug and final tests prior to return or disposition of company products and or customer RMAs, to include PCBAs and electronic components. Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used. Tests functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity. Connects unit to be tested to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, or spectrum analyzer. Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance. Compares results with specifications and records test data or plots test results on graph. Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure. Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems. Operates x-ray equipment to verify internal assembly and alignment of parts according to specifications. Maintains department and procedure specific records accurately and timely. Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Maintains general housekeeping of assigned work area. Works under minimal supervision of the Test Supervisor or Facility Quality Manager. Attends work on time consistently, adhering to company specified work schedules. Other duties may be assigned.   • 5 years of experience and/or training in the electronics field are required.
Associate's degree or higher preferred. IPC-A610 or
J-STD-001
certification is required. Language Skills Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Computer Skills Perform intermediate to advanced computer tasks as assigned.
