Job Description

Test Technician responsible for setting up test apparatus, testing production assemblies, assembling units, calibrating systems, troubleshooting components, and maintaining technical data. Requirements Limited job knowledge of systems, procedures, and basic laboratory techniques Experience using standard test instruments Experience following basic work routines and standards Experience setting up test apparatus Experience conducting tests on production assemblies or units Experience using hand tools and small power tools Experience using measuring and testing devices Ability to read schematics, diagrams, written instructions, and defined plans Experience testing electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems Experience troubleshooting electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems Experience gathering, maintaining, formatting, compiling, and manipulating technical data Ability to perform detailed mathematical calculations Ability to check data and technical information for minor changes Preferred Skills Experience with production equipment assembly Experience with system adjustment and calibration Experience with statistical process control or other quality control procedures Experience supporting production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development Experience suggesting or making work process improvements Responsibilities Set up test apparatus for production assemblies and units Conduct tests following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences Lay out and assemble units for production equipment according to designs and specifications Adjust and calibrate systems as needed Modify equipment by adding, removing, or altering components based on diagrams and sketches Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts and components as directed Use hand tools, small power tools, measuring devices, and testing devices Monitor and verify quality according to statistical process or other control procedures Provide technical support for production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or product development Use schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, verbal descriptions, and defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data using established formulas and procedures Perform detailed mathematical calculations Check data and technical information when minor changes are required Follow prescribed solutions for routine technical problems
