Test Technician Job Description The Test Technician performs electrical testing on electrical power systems and switchgear assemblies, ensuring that all products meet required performance, safety, and quality standards. This role involves working with schematics, wiring diagrams, and a variety of test equipment in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform electrical testing on electrical power systems and switchgear assemblies according to established procedures and standards. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to conduct accurate tests and verify proper operation. Set up, operate, and maintain electrical test equipment, ensuring accurate measurements and safe operation. Perform electrical wiring, assembly, and integration of components as needed to prepare units for testing. Troubleshoot electrical issues identified during testing and assist in diagnosing root causes using test equipment and schematics. Document test results clearly and accurately, including any nonconformances or issues found during testing. Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair electrical and mechanical components as required. Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working with live electrical systems and test equipment. Collaborate with other team members in production and engineering to resolve issues and improve test processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure test equipment and tools remain in good working condition. Essential Skills Experience performing electrical wiring, troubleshooting, or testing in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints. Proficiency using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, test benches, or similar devices. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for electrical and mechanical assembly. Strong understanding of basic electrical principles and safe work practices around energized equipment. Mechanical aptitude for working with assemblies, wiring, and components. Attention to detail and accuracy when performing tests and documenting results. Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment with minimal direct supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with switchgear, power distribution equipment, or electrical power systems. Exp in both electrical and mechanical assembly work. Comfort working from detailed technical documentation and following standardized test procedures. Work Environment This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility, where you will work around electrical power systems, switchgear, and related assemblies. You will regularly use electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools in a production environment. The setting involves typical manufacturing conditions, including exposure to noise, equipment, and varying temperatures, and requires adherence to all safety procedures and appropriate work attire suitable for an industrial facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
