Job Description
Castle Creations is a subsidiary of Pivot International and was founded in 1997. They are one of the leading experts in electronic speed controls and brushless DC motors. Headquartered in Olathe, Kansas, they excel at designing and manufacturing low-weight, high-power, brushless DC motors and controller solutions for use in a number of industries.
Job Objective:
The Engineering Support Technician provides laboratory and technical support to SMT, Manufacturing, and Engineering in support of new product development. This position conducts testing, repair, and data collection activities as directed; supports the development of related equipment and component systems; fabricates test fixtures for lab and field testing; and performs the installation, maintenance, and repair of test equipment and components as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Comply with all Pivot International Quality System Procedures and Work Instructions. Perform electrical circuit and mechanical troubleshooting to the component level. Maintain, troubleshoot, and support lab and production equipment, tools, and work areas. Conduct testing of new components, assemblies, and systems based on criteria established by the requestor; maintain accurate records of results and report findings to the appropriate parties. Assist with the design, build, support, and documentation of test fixtures. Create and modify test procedures for product testing. Build, test, troubleshoot, and repair prototypes in support of development and manufacturing activities. Support SMT, Manufacturing, and Engineering with technical problem-solving and hands-on product evaluation. Keep the immediate supervisor and/or Project Manager informed of project status, estimated completion times, and any issues encountered during the course of the work. Operate machinery, equipment, and tools safely in accordance with established safety rules and procedures. Maintain a neat and orderly work area and follow established tool and instrument control procedures. Report unsafe acts or conditions to the immediate supervisor. Perform visual, mechanical, and microscope inspection of assemblies and parts to verify quality and workmanship. Diagnose, repair, and document field and production failures, including Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and Analysis Reports (ARs). Assume a lead role in field repair and maintenance activities as required. Provide training and guidance to co-workers as directed. Use time effectively, establish priorities, and support departmental and organizational goals. Provide project and repair status updates to the appropriate supervisor or Project Manager as required. None Qualifications:
Education and Experience - Associate degree, two-year Electronic Technician diploma, or equivalent experience required. Minimum of five years of experience using electronic test equipment and performing related technical support functions. Experience with schematic reading, wiring, soldering, de-soldering, solder equipment maintenance, prototype circuit layout, prototype enclosure fabrication, and display mounting. Experience working with Engineering teams in support of electronic product development. Experience with testing processes, lab equipment, and test techniques related to product development and manufacturing support.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills to the component level. Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and general electronic lab equipment. Ability to fabricate, maintain, and support test fixtures and prototype assemblies. Ability to create, modify, and follow test procedures and documentation. Ability to diagnose and repair failed assemblies and components. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate records and clearly communicate test results and findings. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work closely with SMT, Manufacturing, and Engineering personnel in a team environment.Benefits:
