Job Description

Overview Rapiscan Systems, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, sea ports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities. The Test Technician IV performs a variety of technical duties to perform in-process set-up, configure final assemblies and complete systems, and perform final acceptance test for a variety of instruments in order to validate performance to meet specifications prior to shipment. Must be capable of reading and comprehending diagnostic data and apply results to a specific task and capable of utilizing pieces of test equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters. Works from specifications, technical manuals, and defined procedures. Compiles and records test results. Expected to take the initiative to identify problems and recommend solutions. Responsibilities Configure, calibrate and perform final tests of systems to meet specifications for trace substance identification based on model type requirements Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment. Perform complex troubleshooting protocols for non-conforming units Work with and assist Engineering to resolve technical and quality issues as they occur Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process Perform electromechanical assembly of systems in a manufacturing cell environment as needed Meet expected daily production requirements Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork. Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct. It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to configure, calibrate, test, and repair complex instruments 5 + years' experience in instrument configuration and testing Associates Degree or equivalent technical training acquired on the job or in an educational setting. Must be capable of diagnosing and correcting complex manufacturing defects in sensitive scientific instruments and systems utilizing appropriate software applications Must be flexible and able to work in different assignments to support current customer demand Ability to work in a clean, contaminant free environment utilizing gloves during testing operations Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and carry equipment from one workstation to another. Must be Proficient in MS Office applications.
