Test TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Test Technician performs board-level and unit-level testing in a manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet defined specifications and quality standards. This role operates a variety of electronic test equipment, follows detailed test procedures with minimal supervision, and supports environmental stress testing while maintaining strict adnce to safety, ESD, and manufacturing guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Perform board-level and unit-level testing in accordance with detailed test procedures with minimal supervision
- Properly connect and configure test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements
- Run most production tests in the factory environment, following established manufacturing guidelines and procedures
- Support Environmental Stress Testing (ESS) activities with minimal supervision, ensuring tests are executed safely and correctly
- Work safely with high voltage and high power transmitters, adhering to all safety protocols and best practices
- Keep the team lead informed of work status, test progress, and any product or process issues that arise
- Sign in accurately on the correct production identifiers (PIDs) and complete required ESD testing prior to handling sensitive components
- Follow all ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) policies to protect products and maintain a safe work area
- Maintain a neat, organized, and tidy work area that supports efficient and safe operations
- Be accountable for the quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed, ensuring compliance with applicable standards
- Use computer systems and multiple software programs to document test results, track work, and support production processes
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and leadership regarding test results, issues, and improvement opportunities.
Essential Skills
- 2-4 years of equivalent experience in electronics testing, bench testing, or a closely related field
- Basic understanding of electronics terminology and applications, including concepts such as volts, amps, ohms, phase, modulation, dBm, and intermodulation
- Familiarity with AC, DC, and RF test and measurement equipment operation
- Hands-on experience using multimeters and oscilloscopes for troubleshooting and calibration
- Ability to perform board-level and unit-level testing by following written test procedures
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving issues during bench testing
- Ability to properly connect and operate electronic test equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with computer skills, including the ability to toggle between multiple programs
- Experience using Excel, Word, Outlook, and timekeeping or HR systems such as Kronos and PeopleSoft
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Demonstrated accountability for the quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Two-year electronics degree or equivalent education is preferred
- Experience working with Environmental Stress Testing (ESS) processes is beneficial
- Knowledge of IPC and J-STD (J Standard) practices related to electronics manufacturing and assembly
- Experience following formal test procedures in a manufacturing or production test environment
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage priorities effectively
- Familiarity with printed circuit boards (PCBs) and related assembly or inspection processes
- Experience with calibration activities for test equipment and instrumentation
- Strong attention to detail and adnce to ESD and FOD policies
- Comfort working safely around high voltage and high power transmitters.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing environment that focuses on electronics and production testing. You will work with AC, DC, and RF test and measurement equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes, as well as computers running multiple software programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Kronos, and PeopleSoft. The facility operates multiple shifts, with first shift options of 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. The environment emphasizes safety, particularly when working with high voltage and high power transmitters, and requires strict compliance with ESD and FOD policies. The work area must remain neat, tidy, and well-organized to support safe and efficient operations. The dress code includes closed-toe shoes and long pants, with a static vest provided for ESD protection.
